Robert G. Melsom is the Broker of Record and founding principal of Azimuth Realty Group. Based in St. Petersburg, he has spent more than 25 years representing owners, investors, and operators across every major commercial asset class — from development land and office portfolios to marinas, mobile home parks, and luxury residential properties.
His transaction record spans some of the most complex deals in the Gulf Coast market. He coordinated the disposition of the J&J Homes, Inc. eleven-property portfolio valued at $250 million, represented principals in the $23 million acquisition of Maximo Marina and Nautico/Loggerhead Marina, and executed the acquisition and seamless disposition of Triple Creek — a $15 million purchase that generated $9 million in profit for the ownership group.
For Opus South Corporation, Melsom coordinated the disposition of eleven neighborhood shopping centers, nine office buildings (50,000–200,000 SF), and five warehouse facilities (125,000–250,000 SF) to investors, and managed the acquisition of over 31 development sites for retail, commercial, office, and industrial use throughout Florida. For Duke Realty, he represented the owner in the acquisition of four properties for master-planned office and industrial parks in the Tampa market.
On the property management side, he has overseen portfolios ranging from multi-family residential to full-service marinas and mixed-use waterfront properties. Managed assets have included Spring Lake Village (141 units), Bent Pines (71 units), Huber's Marina (233 slips), Maximo Marina (615 slips), Gasparilla Marine Fishery, and the J&J Homes Land Division — 2,000 acres across ten properties in Sarasota and Charlotte counties.
